TREKKING DAY 1 : MARRAKECH- AIT YOUL  DADES

Chegaga Aventure organises private mountain trekking tour in Morocco. Departure towards the Dades Valley along the Central High Atlas. Before arriving to the village of Boumalen Dades, we take the road leading to Ait Youl (2h30). In front of you, you will see and admire the standing kasbahs, the fields, and the gardens filled with rose bushes. We can take a little walk around in the evening for about 1h30 before setting the bivouac or spending the night in a local Berber house.

TREKKING DAY 2 : AIT YOUL DE DADES – IGHREM  AKDIM :

We depart heading towards the river Oued M’Goun, passing by the crest of Djbel Tistouit. Once at the river, we ascend taking the way of oases heading towards the village of Tizguine and Igherm Akdim to spend the night. 5 hours of marching before setting the bivouac or settling in a Berber local house.

TREKKING DAY 3 : IGHREM AKDIM - ALMDOUNE :

The path takes us to a large plateau with many scattered villages. We cross the village of Alemdoune before setting the bivouac at the entrance of the gorges of Oued Ait Ahmed. We spend the night in a wonderful decor with kasbahs encircled with agriculture. 5 to 6 hours of marching. Bivouac or Berber local house.

TREKKING DAY 4 : ALMDOUNE- BOUTGHRAR :

The trek takes us to Rbat to follow the river Assif-el-Quati and cross its gorges, then we cross the villages of Agouti and El Hot and the many kasbahs they house. Overnight in the bivouac or in a Berber local house.

TREKKING DAY 5 : BOUTGHRAR- DAOU OUGALZI :

For this last stage, two itineraries are possible to rally Daou Ougaizi, either we travel on the river bed, or the on the fields and the gardens on terraces. On the river banks, the palm trees become more and more distinguished along with many small villages or lonely houses. 5 hours of marching. Overnight in bivouac or in Berber local house.

TREKKING DAY 6 : DAOU OUGALZI – MARRAKECH :

After breakfast, we depart towards Marrakech via Ouarzazate and the beautiful road of Tizi n’Tichka. Chegaga Aventure would like to thank you for trekking in mountains with trusted and professional Moroccan travel company.

Fees are all included: transport in 4 x 4 or minibus, desert / mountain experienced guide, and half board accommodation. The flights to and from Marrakech are not included.

ADVICE :

For Morocco mountain & desert trek

The following advices are merely suggestions that will let travel in the best conditions possible along with your hosts. You can easily find one at your arrival and it can be really handy to cover yourself from the sun, the wind and the sand, and many other uses that you will discover later.

Walking boots. Depending on the season, it is preferable to wear all terrain sandals especially if you’re visiting during hot days (April, May, June, September or October). Solid boots with warm socks for the other months and for the Atlas mountains excursions. Plus a good pair of baskets would always be efficient.

Good sunglasses are a must have in Morocco.

LIST TYPE OF RECOMMENDED TOOLS :

Back-pack (Also easier to transport on camels that suitcases)

A quilt, temperatures can go as low as -5° (depending on the season)

Small back-pack to carry during daytime

Flashlight, torch (headlamp is the best choice) with extra batteries!

Pocket knif (Leave it the airplane banker during the flight)

A lighter

Paper bags for daily waste

A good jacket

Cotton tights for the cold nights (recommended for winter in the desert)

For the Atlas : Good trekking shoes, a cap, a pair of gloves, impermeable clothes
